OpenStudy (mertsj):

(g/f)(x) means g(x) divided by f(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is the same as the other one, only flipped

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just noticed that! so would it be d?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes they don't have much imagination do they?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think so... why wouldnt it be b? i dont understand that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess it could be B but since the denominator is \(2x+1\) you have to make sure that it isn't zero, so if \(2x+1\neq 0\) then \(x\neq -\frac{1}{2}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all they are adding is that the domain of the function does not include the number \(-\frac{1}{2}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do u know that it doesnt include - 1/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because you cannot divide by zero, i.e. you cannot have a fraction with a zero in the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if \(x=-\frac{1}{2}\) then \(2\times (-\frac{1}{2})+1=-1+1=0\) making your denominator equal zero, if you try to divide by zero, you will explode and the universe will end

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) ok i understand now
