What biological macromolecule is made up of monomers like the one shown below

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lipid Nucleic acid Protein Carbohydrate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Those are the multiple choice questions. I need help

OpenStudy (aaronq):

the "N-C-C" backbone is a characteristic of proteins

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

that is an amino acid, in an non-zwitter ion form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right, firstly protein isn't a monomer, it's made up of monomers of amino acid. Hence the macromolecule formed by amino acids are proteins The macromolecules made from nucleic acid is DNA and RNA. Carbohydrate same as protein it isn't a macromolecule it's a polymer made from monomers of alpha glucose and beta glucose. Lipids are not macromolecule and rather it's a small molecule because it's made from two components: Glycerol and fatty acids.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

carbohydrates and lipids \(ARE\) macromolecules

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no they are not. What is a macromolecule?

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

carbohydrates and lipids ARE macromolecules..... aaronq is right.
