After the Great War. what did many artists begin to experiment with?, i think its d but im not sure Paintings that did not depict reality Realistic paintings depicting the horrors of the war Beautiful still life paintings Romantic paintings depicting the heroism of soldiers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey @halorazer could u help me with this and @Skiller8860

OpenStudy (zale101):

i think it's D too, cuz after wars, soldiers who are alive they come back to their homes honored

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanx fro the link , so its b then right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's A. Depending on where the art you speak of is, surrealism emerged from from the war.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It could also be B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea true , its a tricky question, man where is skiller8860 he could help us understand this question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He's eating.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o yea i forgot about that lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well if we re-analyze the question, it says "many artists begin to EXPERIMENT with."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea true i still think its b im not sure

OpenStudy (zale101):

in my opinion, it depends on what side the artist is, if he was at the side of the winner nation, then it's D but if he was on the side of the country that lost, then it's B. Countries that lost, the citizens of it tend to be sad, but the country that won tend to feel honored by their soldiers and their triumph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its like a tosse up between b or d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surrealism

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please read the 3rd paragraph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (zale101):

after wars, soldiers feel the horror of wars, that's why most solders right affecting sad poems. If they were artist they can be able to draw paintings depicting the horrors of the war.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Likewise, they may also feel disconnected from reality due to the horrors of the war. Hence the more abstract pieces of art that we call surrealism.

OpenStudy (zale101):

@halorazer your source is incredibly helpful!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then its b then ?

OpenStudy (zale101):

i'd say b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same, i guess ill go with b then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is tough. Like I was saying, the question says experiment. Realistic paintings have been around for awhile, even before World War 1.

OpenStudy (zale101):

So Realistic paintings haven't been commonly used at the end of World war 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea ik, man i hate that my teacher had to give me a hard question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They were used, yes. They always will be. But experiment suggests something new that they're trying.

OpenStudy (zale101):

Oh, i get what you mean. Artist begin regimenting new drawing technique after world war 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i think its b who els is with me on this

OpenStudy (zale101):

that's why in the question it says, what did many artists begin to experiment with? And in Wikipedia, it says "Surrealism developed out of the Dada activities during World War 1"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dadaism

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Dada was born out of negative reaction to the horrors of World War I. This international movement was begun by a group of artist and poets associated with the Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. Dada rejected reason and logic, prizing nonsense, irrationality and intuition."

OpenStudy (zale101):

B is commonly drawn by artist after wars, but the question says that artist came up with a new technique after the Great War.

OpenStudy (zale101):

@rockingchick1996, do u have a textbook, maybe there's information regarding artist in World War 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope my teacher never takes the stuff from the text book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have one though? It might relate somehow to it. If not I can grab my APUSH book and skim over the WW1 section for answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk wher it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

/).- hold on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope, nothing on art during or after ww1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its okay ill just go with my gut feeling and go with b
