OpenStudy (lena772):

Select the correct inference of the given passage from "The Cask of Amontillado." "My friend, no. It is not the engagement, but the severe cold with which I perceive you are afflicted. The vaults are insufferably damp. They are encrusted with nitre." The narrator wants Fortunato to think he is concerned for his health. The narrator wants to make up another reason for Fortunato to avoid the vaults. The narrator doesn’t want to catch a cold in the vaults. The narrator knows the vaults are damp and covered in nitre.

OpenStudy (lena772):

I think it's the first one, what do you guys think? @bookworm00981 @beccaboo333

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty good story, the Cask of Ammontayadio

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think The narrator wants Fortunato to think he is concerned for his health.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, but it's Lena's problem to answer. Let's see what she thinks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be good for someone to confirm. Thanks btw.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's talk about the dang story.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's all yours, Take it away lol.

OpenStudy (lena772):

I said I thought it was the first one at the beginning. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you read the story, bookie? did you like it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why, Lena?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Honestly? No.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But yes, I think your right @Lena772

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really good story. If you like reading, you must read this classic.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bookie. DON'T just give away answers!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lena, let's talk about the story. Have you read it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D Laters!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey, Becca.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

oh my..

OpenStudy (lena772):

Yes I've read it. I think it's the first because Montresor is trying to get Fortunado to follow him so he can kill him, but he wants to get him to come by fooling him.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup. Exactly. Poe has a wicked sense of humor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From memory-- Fortunato, "For the love of God!" Other guy, "For the love of God, indeed." Muahahahaha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What would you say about the narrator? Is he playing with a full deck, or is he kind of crazy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kinda Crazy...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Agreed. Actually, way crazy, IMO. Poe has a lot of fun with that sort of thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can we say that the narrator is an example of "the unreliable narrator?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lena, whatcha think?

OpenStudy (lena772):

Probably. :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why do you think that? I agree with you. I'll tell you why.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Enlighten us...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bookie, you're a wiseguy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you guys wanna talk about da story, or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"All I know is that I know nothing" How can I be a wise guy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Figure of speech.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, Your intellect amazes me beyond comprehension.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yet anudder wisecrack.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that a new sort of intelligent crevice? A wise crack. How perturbing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol, Lets stop spamming before we get in trouble.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not spamming. I'm hanging in there, hoping you'll say something about the diddley dang story.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I see Lena was so intrigued she got off line. :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How (*YAWN*) interesting you mention that.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DonaldRoyMiller Claims to be trying to have an intellectual conversation, I was waiting forever for him to enlighten us, but he was more interested in calling me a wise-crack.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's all good though lol, I still got my kicks in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess he gave up ultimately though. Goodnight!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just me and you @DonaldRoyMiller
