Help please!! I have a question im very confused?! How can you get the Greatest common factor from 2x^2+2x+2 I just dont know where to start can anyone help?

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

What is the biggest number you can pull out from all three? Example: 4x^2+8x+ 12 The biggest number I could pull out would be a 4 since it goes into all three... 4(x^2+2x+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so than distribute

OpenStudy (mathlegend):

Well, no if you distribute then you would end up with the same problem. So don't distribute. So what have you pulled out of... 2x^2+2x+2 All it is asking is what is the greatest number you can pull out.

oh wait i cant bc than i get the same answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (mathlegend):
