How would I solve this problem with a regular calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt[3]{176}\] The small number is 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

176^(1/3)enter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, 176 times 1/3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or maybe you have an x^y key or a y^x key. 176 {x^y) (1/3) enter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no RAISED TO the (1/3)rd power

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, kind of a dummy when it comes to square roots. All I know is that I have a square root key on my calculator, how could I use it to solve this problem? The answers I need are suppose to be in decimals.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by regular calculator, do you mean non-scientific?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes Just the standard calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, you can't you can only square root

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here are what my answers look like: I need to choose one.The answer needs to be between one of the following: 5.6-5.60 5.59-5.6 5.61-5.62 5.62-5.63

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*5.6-5.61

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your teacher expects you to have one? answer is 5.604078661 btw. also you can use the calculator program that comes with your computer or you could enter (176)^(1/3) in google ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right, that would make the answer 5.6-5.61 Thank you very much for your help! :)
