Find out the wrong number in the sequence. 623, 251, 543, 356

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

That is an utterly silly question. There is nothing WRONG about any of those values. Is it supposed to be an ARITHMETIC sequence? That might be a better question.

Directrix (directrix):

Not knowing the Asker's level of study, it is difficult to assess how the question may have been more appropriately worded. I'm going with "Which of the following numbers does not contain a digit that is part of the other three numbers?" Silly, yes.

Directrix (directrix):

@SolomonZelman What is your "take" on this question?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Ik, I am smart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Directrix (directrix):

@SolomonZelman Do you think 251 because it has no "3-digit" or do you think something else?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

It is a geometric sequence.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

can't be arithmetic.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

it is GEOMETRIC SEQUENCE. otherwise, it is absurd.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

find the ratios

Directrix (directrix):

Why is it geometric? See, I'm thinking that the Asker is in elementary school and this is a lower level of mathematics question.
