I need a lot of help with this essay!!!
here is what i need to do:
On October 5, 1877, Chief Joseph, leader of the Nez Perce, rode up to the American soldiers who had chased his people across 1,200 miles of rugged lands in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. He surrendered to them with the stirring words, “From where the sun now stands I will fight no more.” Tell General Howard I know his heart. What he told me before; I have it in my heart. I am tired of fighting. Our chiefs are killed. Looking Glass is dead. Toohoolhoolzote is dead. The old men are all dead. It is the young men who say, “Yes” or “No.” He who led the young men is dead. It is cold, and we have no blankets. The little children are freezing to death. My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food. No one knows where they are—perhaps freezing to death. I want to have time to look for my children, and see how many of them I can find. Maybe I shall find them among the dead. Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired. My heart is sick and sad. From where the sun now stands I will fight no more forever. Why is Chief Joseph worried about the people who have run away to the hills? Support your answer with two pieces of evidence from the text.
its harder than it seems....
They were starving and freezing to death. They were his people, and if they were entirely wiped out, there would be no more of his kind. He accepted that they could not run forever, so he would at least like to minimize the deaths of his people.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will not copy but merely copy some parts -copys and pastes whole thing- -presses the staples button- Welp, that was easy! -presses the staples button-

i totally did that too....
Well I mean those are the basic points. You should paraphrase them and add to them as you say fit. :p
im thinking about changing the entirely wiped out part to annihilated but i think that will sound like i got it off of a wiki or something
"his people were completely wiped out" sounds better than "his people were completely annihilated."
yeahhhh heres what i have: They were starving and freezing to death. They were his people, and if they were annihilated, there would be no more of his kind. He had accepted that they could not run forever, so he would at least like to minimize the deaths of his people.
