What part of speech is the italicized word in the sentence below? Four (score) and seven years ago, our forefathers brought forth upon this continent a new nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

I would suggest that it is an adjective as it is supplying part of the amount of years, that with four and seven is in effect saying 87 years ago,
what about upon as the italicized word? the options are: pronoun conjunction adverb preposition verb @radar
What do you think it might be? up on looks like it is describing position like under, over, near, with etc.
I am not very good with grammar, just a hillbilly in the Ozarks. You might do better by posting in the English section, for some reason I am finding this post in the Math. I think it is a preposition, do you?
for real? I did post it in english or at least it says i did
Well you're right, looking at all the posts here on the left side they are English questions although the title of the left hand column says Mathematics weird huh?
conjunction maybe idk tho ;(
I am sticking with prep
You could "Google" it "upon"
What does Google say?
