OpenStudy (anonymous):

which lines are parallel if m<4 = m<5? Justify You Answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

< means angle

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

if m<4 = m<5 because they are Alternate Interior Angles ... |dw:1384546051219:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and how can you justify it?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

If two lines are parallel, then the alternate interior angles are equal. and then the inverse of that statement is also true... If the alternate interior angles are equal, then the two lines are parallel.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Lines r and s are parallel. The reason is a theorem: If two lines are cut by a transversal such that alternate interior angles are congruent, then the lines are parallel.
