OpenStudy (tester97):

\[\frac{ -5+i }{ 2i }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2+5i/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Block this dude tester lol

OpenStudy (tester97):

@thomaster took care of it ^_^ now how did u get that answer? can u explain it?

OpenStudy (tester97):

can you please explain how u got the answer instead of just giving me the answer?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

"simplifying" in terms of working with a complex rational, means getting rid of the pesky " i " in the denominator, and you'd do that by simply squaring the term, so \(\bf \cfrac{-5+i}{2i}\cdot \cfrac{2i}{2i}\implies \cfrac{(-5+i)i}{i^2}\implies \cfrac{-5i+i^2}{i^2}\) do you recall what \(\bf i^2 = ?\)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm
