Copy Cat Copies charges 18 cents for the first copy and 12 cents for each additional copy. What is the greatest number of copies you can get for $3.00?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

@AllTehMaffs

So, if the first copy costs $.18, what is the total amount you can use for the rest of the copies?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

I think that first I have to subtract $3.00-$0.18=$2.82. Then I divide $2.82 by $0.12 = $23.5.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Mmm not exactly

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

WE're not looking for a currency, we're looking for how many copies you can get for a maximum of $3.00 spent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct! Except the second part doesn't leave you with money, it leaves you with the number of copies. $2.82/$.12= 23.5 copies.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

oic, i was confused because of the $ x3

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Sorry I meant it to not be with dollars. I meant 23.5 copies ~ 23 copies. U add one copy and get 24 copy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup yup ^^
