16. You must wear your goggles in the laboratory to improve your vision sometimes to avoid myopia when instructed to do so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Eliminate A, and B. What do you think it is? Guess :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say D is your best bet. C. is a problem with you eyes though

OpenStudy (abb0t):

to improve vision and avoid myopia, duh!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can confirm that "to improve your vision" isn't it, since my goggles turn into a foggy mess the moment I get near a lab station! In all seriousness, goggles are used to protect your eyes from damage. You should *ALWAYS* be wearing goggles in the lab environment (that's what they teach here at Rose, at least). "To avoid myopia" sounds wrong at first glance, since nearsightedness is largely a hereditary condition. However, injuries to the eye *CAN* cause myopia, so it makes sense. I'd go with that choice- the others are either silly or irresponsible (choices B and D are practically identical, too).

OpenStudy (tester97):

fire blanket

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Argh, I hated fire-blanket questions back in middle school lab! "A handy chemical" is vague and doesn't really have any meaning, so you can scratch that out. "The wind from running" is a terrible idea! Oxygen *fuels* fires! A fire extinguisher would technically work, but it's a bad idea to get the foam into people's eyes/mouth/nose etc. Therefore, I would use a fire blanket in this situation. It's safe and effective at snuffing out small fires.
