can anyone help me I gotten stuck in this problem, 2x^2+x-1=0
Wolfram|Alpha is the way to go.
a website u mean?
yep that is a website for computation
add 1 to both sides. then subtract the x. then sqrt it.
@AlexisEyvonne it's quadratic equation you can't do it this way :) you have to factorize it.
what is the specific question. Are you solving for x?
yep
like substitution in steps basically
trying to find x then find the ys next
solving for x you can use the quadratic equation. have you learned how to use the formula?
\(2x^2+x-1=0\) \((2x-1)(x+1)=0\) \(x=0.5\) or \(x=-1\)
eh....sorta i know i'm suppose to factor. just was hard cause the 2x\[2x^2\]
or you can factor it out like @kc_kennylau it's a quicker way if its possible
Did you learn cross method or completing square? :)
yeah i realized that now x.x thank you both and yeah i learned that completing the square

ohhhh see i get that way more than the completing the square
glad it helped you :D
