Factored form help needed. Say I have an expression like: \[6x^2 + 4x\] How would one go about factoring it? (I recently learn how to factor things like: x^2 + 5x + 6...)

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

what common factor do they have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

and?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 only?

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

2x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x(3x + 2)?

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

yep :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that was all there was to it?

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[8x^2+6x\] \[2x(4x+3x)\] Its works for anything thanks :)

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

should be 3 instead of 3x :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol yup I just saw that because 2x * 3x = 6x^2

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

yep :)
