I think the choices can be explained as follows: "A" is wrong because both viruses and bacteria react to their environment- that's how viruses spread, after all! "B" is similarly incorrect because some types of viruses do contain DNA. Some do use RNA, but that isn't universally true. "C" refers to a specific type of reproduction. Humans don't reproduce through binary fission, for example. We don't spontaneously divide in two. "D" is correct because cell theory stipulates that all living things are made of cells. Viruses are simply protein and DNA- they lack an actual cell structure.
