why is New Hampshire colony so important

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Do you have any books or notes on it?

No

Then in that case I don't suppose making them do everything is necessary, Becca. I will happily help you out on the problem. :)

Considering you are saying the colony of New Hampshire, I have to assume it's before the revolution, so that narrows down the uses of the colony. Well New Hampshire was a colony that was planned ahead of time, as one of the 13 original colonies. However it wasn't always a colony because it was once a part of Massachusetts, so an additional charter had to be issued by the King. It was originally settled by fishermen, so it was meant to be a fishing colony. Not only this, but it acted like a buffer zone between the French territories and the British colonies.

A controversial part of Massachusetts, New Hampshire considered itself a state but Massachusetts thought of New Hampshire as an extension of itself. So the King had to intervene by issuing a charter and saying "Hey, New Hampshire is it's own colony." Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Oh my God. >.> Allow me to correct myself again. I meant colony, not state.
