Well we know what happened shortly after World War 1, and that is World War 2. However the only reason we got involved was because they attacked us. The scope did not increase, we tried to focus on our own problems because of the devastation of World War 1. The scope may have decreased to only national issues. We did become more of isolationists afterwards but not entirely. Just stayed out of European affairs. But I do believe the answer is D, because it seems to be the most accurate answer of them all. The ones before could be debated for and whatnot, but D is the most true because we no doubtedly lost trust in our government's ability to, well, govern. And keep us out of wars.
