dose anyone know how to do proofs? need help :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

proofs are hard to explain. you have to prove with deductive reasoning.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

reason statement chart

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Go, ASK!

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

$$\Huge\color{red}{theorem:}$$ A statement that is shown to to be true by use of a logically developed argument. $$\Huge\color{blue}{proof:}$$ Logical reasoning that uses given facts, definitions, properties, and previously proved theorems to show that a theorem is true.

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

I'm in the same boat D:

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

problem solving is fun...proof writing...not so much

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

To understand a proof you must "ask why" each step is taken....

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

except my school thinks that everyone knows proof writing so they don't list the recommended courses to take first before taking a class >:(

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

everyone in my differential equations class doesn't know proof writing x.x

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Indeed, it is a commonly over looked topic because of time constraints.

yes that's a m

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

What do mean by "solve"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm lets see ummm idk how to explain see my teacher teaches it a whole different way see how I have the given I have to solve whats given and prove tis is true now idk how im suppose to dew it but I know it has four steps to it

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

It's really bad to have a bad teacher, last year in math, with a good teacher I got 97 but the second 1/2 of the year I got 89.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm yeah well with all these proofs are making my grade fall but if I dew these proofs then I will be able to bring it back up

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

proof doesn't mean to draw. I did that last semester and my prof was explaining that it's insufficient to do it like that

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

When you are asked to do a proof in geometry, you need to look carefully at the given information and figure out which steps you will need to take to arrive at what you need to prove. In order to be able to write proofs, you must know definitions, postulates, and theorems. They are the tools that allow you to arrive at the conclusion.
