I need help, no rush but if you could thatd be great!
Those two questions are baffleing me, I have solved them each a couple different times but it never says my answers are right! HELP?!?!
@Historybuff1 @river_song Any ideas?
For the second problem, I divided the length of a nautical mile by the distance between the knots. I used 47.25 because 3 inches is 1/4 of a foot.
For the first problem, I divided the dolphin's speed by the conversion factor of 1.15 to get statute miles into nautical miles. I figured that if a dolphin swam at 115 statute miles per hour, it would convert to 100 nautical miles per hour, a lower number, so the 20 mph had to become a lower number also - so I divided. 3rd place.
@Tonks I don't quite understand how you mean I should go about solving no. 2?
1 [na mi] = 1.15 [st mi] (1/1.15) [na mi/st mi] = 1 1 [st mi/ hr] = 1 [st mi/ hr] * 1 = 1 [st mi/ hr] * (1/1.15) [na mi/st mi] = (1/1.15) [na mi/ hr] = (1/1.15) [kn] 20 [st mi/ hr] = 20 * (1/1.15) [kn]
