\[(x ^{3})*\sqrt{x+1}\] find the derivative

OpenStudy (bibby):

You can take the derivatives separately and add them up because of the sum rule. Do you know how to take the derivative of\[x^2 where x^n = nx^{n-1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

going by bibbys method im getting (7 x^3 + 6 x^2)/[2*(x+1)^1/2]

OpenStudy (bibby):

oh god what have I done. That's a multiplication not an addition. Multiplication = u'v + uv'|dw:1385115230488:dw|
