Find the x- and y-intercepts for 3x + 4y - 12 = 0.

hartnn (hartnn):

to get x-intercept put y= 0 in 3x + 4y - 12 = 0. to get y-intercept put x= 0 in 3x + 4y - 12 = 0.

I thought it was something like that but had a total brain blank! thank you!

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^ if you want to verify your answer, tell me what u get :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-4, 0) and (0, -3)

hartnn (hartnn):

not actually 3x +0 =12 gives you x= ... ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4............I got the +/0 backwards didn't I!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sooooo dyslexic....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

. (0, 3) and (4, 0) does that look better?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x is 3, y is 0 and x is 0, y is 4

hartnn (hartnn):

yes those are correct x-intercept ----> (4,0) y-intercept ------>(0,3)

hartnn (hartnn):

when y is 0, x is not 3 x=4 so x-int = (4,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think I need to sleep.....it's 3:10 here and I worked all day.....I've got what you showed me....I'll work on it again tomorrow.....thank you for helping me!!!

hartnn (hartnn):

sure, have a good night and sweet dreams! :) welcome ^_^
