OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

What graph represents the line that passes through [3/2, 2/3] and has an undefined slope?

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

@jigglypuff314

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

@jim_thompson5910

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

undefined slope would mean that the line is vertical (ie x = (something) ) at the point (3/2, 2/3) the x part of that is 3/2 therefore the equation would be x = 3/2

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

do u know how would it look on a graph

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

can you help me with some more

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

sure :)

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

Which of the following graphs represents the line that passes through 3/2, -1/2 and has a slope of 1?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

a line that has a slope of 1 means that every time x increases by 1, y increases by 1 so you can immediately eliminate A and C because the line is going downwards which would have meant a negative slope Then between B and D which do you think has that every time x increases by 1, y increases by 1

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

b?

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

am i right?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

hmm... take a look at it. for graph B every time x goes over 1 y goes up 1/2 we are looking for every time x increases by 1, y increases by 1

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

d?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yep :)

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

What graph represents the line that passes through (–2, 1) and has a slope of –2?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

y = -2x - 3

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

What graph represents the line that passes through (–2, –3) and has a slope of 2/3 ?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

y = 2/3x - 5/3

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

thanx a lot :D

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

you're welcome :)
