What is the equation for the axis of symmetry of the quadratic function f(x) = 2x2 + 12x - 16?

Will give medal please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you have to find the a,b, and c. so your a is the first number of the equation , b is the second and c is the third. in this equation it is a=2 b=12 and c=-16 after that you plug your numbers into the equation: \[ \frac{ -b }{ 2(a)? }\] so you should have \[\frac{ -12 }{ 4 }\] divide and you get -3. so x=-3
