OpenStudy (anonymous):

in a right triangle, the sum of the two angles included except that of C is equal to 90 degrees... that angle C which is 90 degrees is the right angle of a right triangle...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the angle B is 62.5° right??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

knowing the 3 basic trigonometric functions commonly named as SOH-CAH-TOA where... SOH = Sine of the angle = Opposite side of the angle/Hypotenuse of the Right triangle CAH = Cosine of the angle = Adjacent side of the angle/Hypotenuse... TOA = Tangent of the angle = Opposite side/Adjacent side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you're correct about angle B...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.. then, what the next step to get the measurement of leng of b and c??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's the next step, i mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the given side is opposite on one of the angle... you can solve the adjacent side to the angle... what trig function do you think is applicable?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TAN?? IS THAT RIGHT?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup you can use that...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TANGEANT= O/A..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok... go on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there any possible trig function aside from tangeant??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can use SINE to solve the hypotenuse c... using the given angle A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the COSINE to solve hypotenuse c also, but you have to use the other angle B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok . wait i'll try tan and sin..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

after solving the adjacent side (solve thru' TAN)... you can solve hypotenuse c using the Pythagorean Theorem: c = sqrt (a^2 + b^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pythagorean Theorem is always applicable at the sides of right triangles....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b=18.96 .... is that right??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you're correct!... you're getting it right... :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then when i try to solve in sin,, the c=4.56 .. right or wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what angle did you use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sinA= SIN (27.5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin (27.5) = 9.87/h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so h = 9.87/sin(27.5), what will you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c=4.56 po.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you sure? try to look at it again...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah! i mean 21.36 po. tama po?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, that's the correct one... you got it all correct now... congratulations!.... :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you po very much! God bless po.
