Rationalize the denominator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ \sqrt{12} }{ \sqrt{4} }\]

ughhhhh I am stupid lol

Haha I have a cumulative tomorrow and I can't remember how to do this! I know the answer is root3 but I don't know how to get there by rationalizing the denominator!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@BlackLabel any idea? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so when you rationalize, you look at the factors of the number under the square root, for the denominator, the factors are two and two, so its 2. For the numerator, you rationalize it to 2√3, and the two cancels, leaving you with √3
