Explain the difference between a work of art intended for documentation and one intended for commemoration. How can a work of art, intended as a documentation, become also a piece of commemoration?

OpenStudy (haileyd):

The documentation art is of media artworks—and other contemporary art forms. commemoration is one of the oldest forms of art, as it focuses on people/events that are considered important for society now and in the future. it's what ends up in history books, a common example is statues. sure they're done about people still living, though being dead seems to be preferred. guess it's like naming a street after someone: to be on the sure side, you'd better take someone not being able to mess up in the near future. and i'm not so sure an the last part.sorry
