OpenStudy (hihi67):

Make an equation for: two even numbers whose product is 960.

hartnn (hartnn):

do they need to be consecutive too ?

hartnn (hartnn):

and you know whats an even number ?

OpenStudy (hihi67):

Yes, sorry, they do need to be consecutive.

OpenStudy (hihi67):

Now my problem is, is that they have to be even...

OpenStudy (hihi67):

@hartnn

OpenStudy (hihi67):

Normally the equation would be: x(x+1) = 960

OpenStudy (hihi67):

@hartnn

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

But since they're even so it's not \(1\) that you'll add.

hartnn (hartnn):

since they are even numbers they will have the difference of 2, right ? like 2,4,6,8..... so, what will be your equation with even numbers ?

OpenStudy (hihi67):

Yeah, but 13 and 15 also have a difference of 2...

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

You do not need to care about this at the moment :)

OpenStudy (hihi67):

Ookay. So then it would obviously be x(x+2)

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

yep :)

hartnn (hartnn):

yess so, x(x+2)=960 find the 2 values of x from this can u ?

OpenStudy (hihi67):

Okay, thanks, I can do it alone from here. Thanks!

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

no problem :)
