I think this might help: http://www.mathwarehouse.com/geometry/quadrilaterals/trapezoid.php Scroll down to the section that says "Midsegment of Trapezoid"

To find the lengths of the bases, just subtract the x-coordinates from each other.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get that the bottom base is 20, and the top base is 9

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

A is the midpoint of PM, and B is the midpoint of ON. so start by finding the midpoints. next, using the distance formula, find the length of AB... the mipoint is add the x values and then divide the answer by 2 add the y values and then divide the answer by 2 hope this helps.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14.5?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

you don't even need to distance formula... just looking at the diagram

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Add them, divide by 2 and I get 14.5

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

thats correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Got it :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, 14.5

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

both points A and B lie on the line y = 3
