Can anyone hel-..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Woops forgot to type the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which is most likely to be part of an ionic bond? an atom with no valence atoms an atom with 1 valence atom an atom with 2 valence atoms an atoms with 3 valence atoms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyone..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

valence atom OR valence ELECTRON?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

valence electron sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you may have mistyped the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did, here is the 'edited version' which is most likely to be part of an ionic bond an atom with no valence electrons an atom with one valence electrons an atom with two valence electrons an atoms with three valence electrons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it a,b,c or d?..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I haven't reviewed my chemistry in a while, but I think this question is kind of odd. Let's see... sodium chloride is table salt and is one of the most famous ionic bonds around. sodium has one valence electron, while chloride has seven valence electrons. Both form an ionic bond because sodium fills chlorine's outer shell very nicely (in this example, a full outer shell is eight electrons). Because of all this, I am very tempted to say b: an atom with one valence electrons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whichever the case, the answer is NOT a.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@severus4ever will you be giving a medal for best answer? (just curious) ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@HomeschoolGrad , yes//

OpenStudy (anonymous):

howevr..just to be in the'safe' zone, ill keep looking for more answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, thank you ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that's a good idea. You should probably close this question and post it in the chemistry study area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok
