Using complete sentences, compare and contrast the ways to factor the "sum of two squares" and the "difference of two squares." Provide an explanation and example of each, including any similarities and differences

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a² + b² is sum of two squares while a² - b² is difference of two squares. The differences of two squares is factorable while the sum of two squares isn't since a² - b² = (a - b)(a + b). The only similarities is that both kinds of expressions contain squared terms.
