OpenStudy (ashy98):

Help solve ???

OpenStudy (ashy98):

\[\frac{ x+1 }{ 2 }=\frac{ 7 }{ 3 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cross multiplication is the first step. So Multiply 7 by 2 and set it equal to 3 times x+1. Then solve for X

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2*7=3(x+1)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simplifying gets you \[14=3x+3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

subtract 3 from both sides \[3x=11\]

OpenStudy (ashy98):

so it would be 3 x+\[\frac{ 3 }{ 14 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm afraid not. With 3x=11 all you have to do is divide by 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which is \[\frac{ 11 }{ 3 }\]
