Which equation is graphed here? http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/308500_309000/308804/1/ebdb4f74ba7de098e2d2acc25c822925700c2e09/MS_ALG_S1_07_08_quiz_Q5_question.gif A. y – 4 = -3/2 (x + 2) B. y – 2 = -3/2 (x + 4) C. y – 4 = -2/3 (x + 2) D. y + 4 = -3/2 (x-2)

The simplest way to solve this is to pick a point on the graph, let's say (0, -1), the point where the graph crosses the y-axis. Now, what we have to do is to put\[x = 0\]\[y = -1\] in each of the expressions and calculate the left side and the right side of the equation. If they are equal. then we have found the right equation. Let's calculate D: Left side: \[-1+4 = 3\] Right side: \[-\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }*(0-2) = -\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }*(-2) = 3\] Hence, D has to be correct.

Thank you so much! I always get confused with slopes, intercepts, and graphs. Do you mind helping with a few more, I'll tell you which ones I think the right answers are.
