A small muffin costs $1.25, and a large muffin costs $1.95. If you are buying a dozen muffins for the office and you were given $20 to spend, write an equality that expresses how many small muffins, n, you can buy.

n+n=20$

Whoa! At first I thought the cost of a large muffin would be irrelevant here. Then it struck me that the question asks how many large and how many small muffins, totaling 12 muffins, can be purchased with little or no change for $20. Can anyone think of a different interpretation that would make as much or as more sense?
