What do the geographic transitions evident in the interactive map indicate about the changes taking place in Latin America?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem and that sucks I have an emotional disorder so I really can't show emotion which is the worst thing ever except for angry I do angry pretty good.. A virtual community is a social network of individuals who interact through specific media, potentially crossing geographical and political boundaries in order to pursue mutual interests or goals. One of the most pervasive types of virtual community include social networking services, which consist of various online communities. The term virtual community is attributed to the book of the same title by Howard Rheingold, published in 1993. The book, which could be considered a social enquiry, putting the research in the social sciences, discussed his adventures on The WELL and onward into a range of computer-mediated communication and social groups, broadening it to information science. The technologies included Usenet, MUDs (Multi-User Dungeon) and their derivatives MUSHes and MOOs, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), chat rooms and electronic mailing lists; the World Wide Web as we know it today was not yet used by many people. Rheingold pointed out the potential benefits for personal psychological well-being, as well as for society at large, of belonging to such a group. These virtual communities all encourage interaction, sometimes focusing around a particular interest, or sometimes just to communicate. Some virtual communities do both. They allow users to interact over a shared passion, whether it be through message boards, chat rooms, social networking sites, or virtual worlds.

Rheingold pointed out the potential benefits for personal psychological well-being, as well as for society at large, of belonging to such a group. These virtual communities all encourage interaction, sometimes focusing around a particular interest, or sometimes just to communicate. Some virtual communities do both. They allow users to interact over a shared passion, whether it be through message boards, chat rooms, social networking sites, or virtual worlds. this is pretty much most of the important stuff

OpenStudy (theballer225):

mkay How did the class system influence the way different groups might have thought of each other?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Historically social class and behaviour was sometimes laid down in law. For example, permitted mode of dress in some times of places was strictly regulated, with sumptuous dressing only for the high ranks of society and aristocracy; sumptuary laws stipulated the dress and jewellery appropriate for a person's social rank and station.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For Marxists, class antagonism is rooted in the situation that control over social production necessarily entails control over the class which produces goods—in capitalism this is the exploitation of workers by the bourgeoisie.

However,Spanish royal officials in Spanish colonies in the Americas refused to recognize Joseph,or take orders from him.In the absence of any instructions from Ferdinand (who had been impriosned by Napoleon),the Spanish colonies in the Americas were thus left to run their own affairs until the French were forced out of Spain,and Ferdinand restored to the throne,in 1813.

In the upheavals of the decades of revolution and its aftermath, [ leaders who were able to draw to themselves bands of loyal followers and keep them well armed and otherwise well cared for could assume the title of "general." Caudillos began to attain this power in the course of the Spanish American wars of independence, where the militias did much of the fighting and earned a heroic reputation. The caudillos used their small armed bands to overthrow the vulnerable newly independent states in South America.

In 1833 and 1844, the first general laws against child labour, the Factory Acts, were passed in England: Children younger than nine were not allowed to work, children were not permitted to work at night, and the work day of youth under the age of 18 was limited to twelve hours. Factory inspectors supervised the execution of the law. About ten years later, the employment of children and women in mining was forbidden. These laws decreased the number of child labourers; however, child labour remained in Europe up to the 20th century.

What were some of the early socialist beliefs, and how were they put into practice?

OpenStudy (theballer225):

@shelbygt520 okay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Utopian socialism is a term used to define the first currents of modern socialist thought as exemplified by the work of Henri de Saint-Simon, Charles Fourier, and Robert Owen, which inspired Karl Marx and other early socialists.[1] However, visions of imaginary ideal societies, which competed with revolutionary social-democratic movements, were viewed as not being grounded in the material conditions of society and as reactionary.[2] Although it is technically possible for any set of ideas or any person living at any time in history to be a utopian socialist, the term is most often applied to those socialists who lived in the first quarter of the 19th century who were ascribed the label "utopian" by later socialists as a negative term, in order to imply naivete and dismiss their ideas as fanciful or unrealistic.[3] Forms of socialism which existed in traditional societies are referred to as primitive communism by Marxists. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the state. 7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan. 8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture. 9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country. 10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc. Of course, this is just Karl Marx's version. They vary world-wide.
