Can someone help me out on a problem I'm stuck on? :/ I'll give you a medal!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part A: Divide (9x4y3 + 3x3y2 - 6x2y - 12x2y4) by -3x2y. Show your work, and justify each step. Part B: How would your answer in Part A be affected if the x2 variable in the denominator was just an x? Part C: What is the degree and classification of the polynomial you got in Part A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to type the ^ symbol before the exponent to make the question clearer. example: x squared is typed x^2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9x4y3 / (-3x2y) = 3(1)(2)(y2) = 6y2 etc. each term first gets divided by its mate.

@jam333 forgot to add the ^ symbol. sorry :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@douglaswinslowcooper got it. :) thanks.

Example: (5 + x) / 2 is the same as 5/2 + x/2 Break each one up like douglaswinslowcooper said to do.

okay :) thanks!
