Anyone know ways to use twister ( the game) to teach probability? I am giving one to my math teacher and my mom says that she taught sped students using one but is not sure my teacher would appreciate sped lessons.
twister is a game of action. each action is dependent on a colour and a body part. How you end up on that colour and body part is part of chance. there are other possible circles you can land on when you spin. So if probability means to know how likely are you to do something, and there are 4 colours each with a left/right hand/foot, you have a total of 16 combinations! say you really like to put your hand on a green circle? what are the chances of that? what is the probability? if there are 4 colours and each colour has 4 different things i can do, and i really want to do one thing on one of the colours, then the chances of me doing that is 1/16 because (lets assume i play fairly and not cheat) i cannot control where the spinner will land, so 1/16 is the probability of me landing on one of the circles!
