OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

Help me .-.

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

@RyGuy

OpenStudy (ryguy):

perpendicular i think

OpenStudy (ryguy):

i wouldnt quote me on it

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

Oh .-.

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

@cambrige

OpenStudy (ryguy):

sorry :/

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

It's okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

check their slopes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u ther girl??

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So first bring both the equations to their standard form. Ax+By+C=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then find their slope which is defined as Slope,m=(-A)/B...get me??

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

I really didn't wanna do all the work ;-; Lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u've got to.........Its os.I'll help u but u gotta do it urself!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its just a 2 second process....

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

Not for me .-. it'll take me forever .-.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got the ans the moment I saw the question.not bragging..........I'll walk u thru it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first write them in their standard form for e.g the first one can be rewritten as

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x+y-3=0 like the form Ax+By+C=0 here A=4,B=1,C=-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now u try the second one

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

Wut... I don't even understand how you got that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x+y-3=0 like the form Ax+By+C=0 here A=4,B=1,C=-3..............which part is troubling u??

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

Nevermind.

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

The second one is already in the form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope the constant is on the other side!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first one slope,m1=(-4)/1=-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

getin me??

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

How? .-. It's the same damn formula. 4x + y - 3 = 0 and -2x + 8y = 5 looks like the same formula to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2x+8y=5 is the same formula............. but not in the standard form whereas 4x + y - 3 = 0 is in the "standard form"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't be rude!!

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

I'm not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did u get what I said??

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

Not really. LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k .......so the answer is perpendicular

OpenStudy (stormoshawty):

Thank you! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m1*m2=1 for lines to be perpendicular

OpenStudy (anonymous):

;)..ur welcome!!
