Didn't say R and T are the same point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, right ,let me change that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PT = PS QP=PR

Directrix (directrix):

@stupidinmath Do you agree that segment PR has the same length as segment PS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think so.. im not sure

Directrix (directrix):

To my thinking, point R is where the two circles touch. Points T and O are centers of different circles.

Directrix (directrix):

Segment PT is not a tangent to the circle. Your idea is right. It is PR = PS.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah.. I think only PT = PS QP=PR has equal segments right?

Directrix (directrix):

Reemember: tangents drawn to a circle from an outside point are congruent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PR=PS too?

Directrix (directrix):

PQ = PR = PS --> Is that what you are saying?

Directrix (directrix):

Is this the title of this section of problems? Do you see any congruent angles?

Directrix (directrix):

Segments PR and PS and tangents drawn to a circle from an outside point. They are congruent so they have the same measure.

Directrix (directrix):

@stupidinmath Do you see any congruent angles?

Directrix (directrix):

I think the congruent angles part will come up in later problems.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there's no congruent angles

Directrix (directrix):

I agree.
