Find the height of the object after each time listed. h = -16t^2 + 128t (Both are different questions) 1) 1 Second 2) 4 Seconds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1) \[h=-16(1^2)+128(1)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

By plugging in the 1 for time, what do you think would be the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you just plug those in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not the same answer as the book though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nevermind! I figured it out. I was accidentally squaring -16 into the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, the equation is a quadratic but it is unnecessary to solve with other methods when the variable there, is time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make sure you are checking calculations and that's all!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome!

Do you mind helping me with another problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An OBject projected from a height of 48ft with an initial velocity of 32ft per sec after t seconds has height. h=-16t+32t+48 (a) after how many seconds is the height 64ft? (b) After how many seconds is the height 60ft? (c) After how many seconds does the object hit the ground? (d) The quadratic equation from part (c) has two solutions, yet only one of them is appropriate for answering the question. Why?
