OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I find my friends at their houses . My family eats at McDonald's a lot. @noname__ @brendalopez I also have 3 more questions to answer after this .

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

¿Dónde encuentras a tus amigos? >>>>> Where do you find your friends? Encuentro mis amigos en la escuela.. >>>>>> I find my friends at school. ¿En qué restaurante almuerza muchas veces tu familia? >> what restaurant do you mostly have lunch with your family? Mi familia come mucho en McDonalds. >>> My family eats at McDonald's a lot..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yo encuentro a mis amigos en la casa. my familia almuerza mucho en mcdonalds.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am so confused ! I got 2 different ways to write the two sentences ... Ah .

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Hope i helped (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok yeah he'll help you, he beat me lol

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

¿Dónde encuentras a tus amigos? Where do YOU find your friends? Remember, since they are asking YOU, you have to say "Yo encuentro mis amigos..." ¿En qué restaurante almuerza muchas veces tu familia? In whcih restaurant does your family go to a lot? Remember they are talking about your family so you should say "Mi familia..." or "Ellos van a _____ muchas veces"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mi familia veces McDonald mucha .? @kewlgeek555 does that mean my family eats at mcdonald a lot ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would mi familia come a McDonald's mucho I believe..idk im not that smart

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mi familia come mucho en mcdonalds or mi familia almuerza mucho en mcdonalds or mi familia va mucho a comer en mcdonalds either would be good

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

No, "Mi familia almuerza en McDonlads mucho." or "Mi familia almuerza mucho en McDoanlds." That means your family has lunch in McDonalds a lot. :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Después de salir con tus amigos, ¿a qué hora vuelves a casa? @kewlgeek555 I am trying to say 'I come home at 10 , after I hang out with friends . ' I know ten is diez.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Try saying this: "Después de salir con mis amigos, yo llego a la casa a las diez."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kewlgeek555 I trust your anwser . I just was wondering can you explain to me about using the correct conjugation in all of this sentences?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay. Sorry for the late reply. OpenStudy JUST TOLD ME that you replied. ;(

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

So, the first one was... ¿Dónde encuentras a tus amigos? Where do YOU find your friends? So basically, this is someone asking you where do you find your friends. I think what they mean by this is actually where are your friends. I am not sure. Anyways, since YOU have to reply, then you have to start the sentence with "Yo", which means "I". You also have to remember to conjugate the verb correcly. You also have to keep in mind what tense you are conjugating the verb in. Present, future, imperfect, preterite. Encontrar is an -AR Verb so... (yo) encuentr-O (tú) encuentr-AS (él/ella/usted) encuentr-A (nosotros) encontr-AMOS (vosotros) encontr-áIS (ellos/ustedes) encuentr-AN So, you know you have to use "yo", so you know the sentence starts, "Yo encuentro mis amigos en..." Now where do you find your friends? Maybe in the park: "Yo encuentro a mis amigos en el parque." ...Or in the beach: "Yo encuentro a mis amigos en la playa." Something I always want you to remember is that do not forget the "a" before "mis". A lot of people do that ans it is wrong. And thank you for trusting my answer. :D Remember, since they are asking YOU, you have to say "Yo encuentro mis amigos..."

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Ignore the last paragraph ^

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

The next one is a little bit tricky because you have to figure out what type of person (yo, tu, nosotros, etc..) is in the sentence: ¿En qué restaurante almuerza muchas veces tu familia? In which restaurant does your family eat lunch at a lot? So, you know they are talking about your family. A lot of people get confused because of the "your", but you shouldn't ignore it. When you find a tricky sentence like this there are multiple steps to figuring out what type of person this is: tu familia - your family 1. The defintion - What is a family? It is usually a group of three or more people. So you know it CANNOT be "yo, tu, el, ella, usted" 2. Figure it out. "TU FAMILIA." "Your family." So...it can;t be "nosotros", "us", because that just isn't correct. Whattabout "ustedes"? Can it be "ustedes"? Ustedes means you guys, so YOU'RE in the group. But in "TU FAMILIA" they are talking about your family, not YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, (Tu y tu familia), so it couldn't be "ustedes"...it must be "Ellos." OBVIOUSLY, you can say "mi familia', but some classes encourage you to say "ellos" instead of "mi familia" so yo can identify what type of person/group it is. But other schools also like to make sure that you say "MI familia" and not "Tu familia" again. Hope Im not confusing. So now we know it is "ellos". The verb is "ir": (yo) voy (tú) vas (él/ella/usted) va (nosotros) vamos (vosotros) vais (ellos/ustedes) van So now we know that te sentence starts with: "Ellos almuerzan en _____ mucho." Since you chose McDonalds, then "Ellos almuerza en McDonalds mucho." But notice it is very different when you say "Mi familia" instead of "Ellos": "Mi familia almuerza en McDonalds mucho." Notice that with "ellos" the "almorzar" verb ended with "an", but with "mi familia" it ended with "a". Why you ask? Because when you are saying "mi familia" you are saying "MY family", not "THEY". See? You can also say "Mi familia almuerza mucho en McDonalds"

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Maybe, for practice, you can show me how to do the last one? (Después de salir con tus amigos, ¿a qué hora vuelves a casa?) You don't have to, though. :3

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@tHe_FiZiCx99 This will get you to be a prince ^^

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

You took your time to type all that & explained it brilliantly ;o (:

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I am going to add you to the kingdom @timaashorty :3

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Kingdom ?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay. So,me and esshotwired are like the top users in this section. We have some kind of kingdom that is all the people that can help you in Spanish. I was thinking of adding you as a "knight", but if you are really good, then you can be a "prince". :P

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

So you're like the king of this ? Prince ? haha why can't i be a princess instead ? ;c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

their is already a princess (not me obviously xD) @timaashorty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kewlgeek555 : Puedes ir al cine a las diez de la noche? I recognize cine = movies diez = ten , noche = night but thats all I recognize.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@timaashorty I am the king, there is already a permanent queen. There is already a princess. Are you a boy or a girl?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Can you go to the movies at ten in the evening [or ten at night]? @Faith_Rochelle

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

@Faith_Rochelle Did you read the explanations I gave you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kewlgeek555 about conjugations ? Yes I did .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No puedo ir al cine a las diez de la noche. Is that correct or would it be Yo no puerdo ir al cine a las diez de la noche ?

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Both actually are correct. But it would be safer to use the second one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

¿Tus amigos prefieren ir a la piscina o a la playa? I am going to try this one on my own .. it means : Do your friends prefer to go to the pool or the beach ? Mis amigos prefieren ir a la piscina, y no a la playa. <<< thats how I answered it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kewlgeek555

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Wow, great job! I am very impressed. You are becoming a Spanish whiz!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

¿Quieres ir a un concierto o prefieres escuchar música en casa? This is the last question .. It is asking me do I prefer concerts or do I like to listen to music at home. My answer is : Yo prefiero escuchar música en casa, y no ir a conciertos. is that the right conjugations ??

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Okay. You are partially correct. You have the correct conjugations and all, but you did not understand the question. Is asked "Quires" which means "Do you want to..." So, the question is asking "Do you want to go to a concert, or do you prefer to listen to music in the house." That's what your question is asking you, but your response is okay. :}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kewlgeek555 YES!! I am done with that assignment . Thank you sooo much for your help. (:

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

@kewlgeek555 I'm a Girl ; name is Timaa [: So uhh in this Kingdom. There has to be only one of everything ? I guess you could put me as a soldier ? Since I just started. I'm still fighting my way up or something like that ? lol

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Well, there is one king, one queen, one prince, and one princess. There are several knights and also several peasants. I shall categorize you as a knight for now, but you might go up to a princess since @lauluisa the current princess, is slacking. :P

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Haha i see; Aight keep me as a knight because I may not be a lot on here. ;c

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Aw. ;-;

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Sowwie , but I'll try to log in everyday and help (:

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

It's okay, I'm only on on weekends. ;]

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

I meant weekdays, ugh.

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

I'll mostly be on the weekdays too. But i always come and the questions are answered already lol

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

o yeah, this is a slow subject. :3
