I REALLY NEED HELP !!!! ILL GIVE YOU A MEDAL !!!! Find the coordinates of the other endpoint when you are given the midpoint (point M) and one of the endpoints (point P). P = (2,-3) M = (6,-1)

OpenStudy (alekos):

use the midpoint equations but backwards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From P to M change in x is 4 and change in y is 2. Just add those to the midpoint coords to get the other endpoint.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand it could you show me how to do it talk me through it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what @slickwilly said was x = 4 and y = 2 is the difference so to get the end point just add those numbers to the midpoint. When midpoint x = 6 and you + 4 then endpoint x = 10 Then when midpoint y = -1 and you add 2 then endpoint y = 1 So the endpoint is (10, 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so the equation is the same but just backwards and thats it that how i get my answer 10,1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i have to sqaure root anything?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No you don't have to sq rt anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay great so the answer is 10,1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much for helping me your so nice :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And God Bless you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well thanks :) and God Bless you too :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
