OpenStudy (xmoses1):

The equations of two lines are x - 3y = 6 and y = 3x + 2. Determine if the lines are parallel, perpendicular or neither. parallel perpendicular neither

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Put both lines in the same form. I'll change the first line to say y=1/3x-2 The slopes of the two lines are 1/3 and 3. Does that help you answer.

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Ok so they are perpendicular?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Since the fractions are opposites. I see thank you :)

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

The x-intercept of the line whose equation is 2x - 3y = 6 Is it three?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops...the slopes must be the opposite and inverse. These aren't. I'd correct myself to say these are neither.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes...the x-intercept is 3...o r(3,0)

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Oh ok I fixed it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Thanks. I am trying to make corrections on a quiz that i took and i got a 67 on it. So i am trying to find what i got wrong on it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what you do...good for you.
