OpenStudy (australopithecus):

and what variable are you solving for

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

after u factor the 5 from the coefficients, u will see that any further factorization is not possible. then 5 was indeed the GCM

Choose any of those three numbers and compare them. You can do 130 and 10, 130 and 5, or 10 and 5. For simplicity, let's try 10 and 5. What are the greatest common factors for 10 and 5? For 10: 1*10, 2*5... that's all. 1, 2, 5, and 10. For 5: 1*5... that's all. 1, and 5. According to the comparison of 10 and 5, they both share 1 and 5 as common factors. Now lets check which of those two numbers will go into 130. 1 obviously goes into 130. 1*130=130. Does 5? Let's see... 5 goes into any number that ends in a 0 or a 5. 130 ends in a 0. Therefore, 5 goes into 130! Comparing both 5 and 1, we know that 5 is greater than 1. So your answer is 5!
