determine the equcation whose roots are -3, -3, and 3 a) x^3+3x^2-9x-27=0 b) x^3-9x^2+27x+8=0 c)x^3-3x^2+9x=0 d)x^3-3x^2+8x=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the roots are -3, -3, and 3. the roots can also be read as the zeros to an equation. then, we can set it up as: (x+3)(x+3)(x-3) then foil it to get an equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DemolisionWolf which one is it??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need to FOIL this: (x+3)(x+3)(x-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i forget how to foil when their is 3 of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, first just FOIL two of them to start out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x^2+6x+9) (x-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good! can you now FOIL what you have again?
