Is anyone good with figurative language?
Whats the question??
Caption: Upward of 500 marchers crowd on steps and sidewalk in front of City Hall and sing after they staged an unannounced march to the municipal building, March 19, 1965, Selma, Alabama. Respond to the following in complete sentences: Identify which of the following examples uses figurative language to describe the image. What makes the example you identified figurative language? Which device is used? The protesters continued to gather on the marble steps of City Hall; they were a peaceful crowd that wanted to see changes made. The group of protesters who surrounded City Hall was not a fly buzzing in one's ear; instead, they were a swarm of bees that demanded attention. & theirs an image as well if you'd like to see
Figurative language can be a simile, a metaphor, hyperbole, whatever. If you look at the second example: The group of protesters who surrounded City Hall was not a fly buzzing in one's ear; instead, they were a swarm of bees that demanded attention. The group of protesters are compared to a swarm of bees. However, the words 'like' or 'as' are not used, making the comparison a metaphor.
The first example is difficult.. i have no clue @turntechGodhead
The first example doesn't use any figurative language. I'm pretty sure the question is asking which one does.
