A radius of a circle is the square root of 8. What is the perimeter of the circle? I know that you use 2(pi)r. the answer is 4(pi)square root of 2. BUT WHY?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you look at the square root of 8 its the same thing as SQROOT(4x2) and thats the same thing as SQROOT(4) x SQROOT(2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SQROOT(4) = 2 x SQROOT(2), Which if you plug that into the 2(pi)r you get 2(pi)(2SQROOT(2))= 4(Pi)SQRoot(2)

Hope that helps and do not hesitate to ask if anything was unclear

Thank you soo much ! I understand now. It was just a different way of formatting the answer than I was used to.
