Solve: X^4-13X^2+36=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a quadratic in disguise. (x^2)^2 - 13x + 36.

SO DO I JUST use the quadratic formula? a=1 b=-13 c=36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. Solve that. But, remember, you have to remember to square it, because you are really solving for (x^2) SQUARED. So, just remember to square it (or just plug it into (x^2)^2 - 13x + 36.
