What are the coordinates of the turning point for the function f(x) = (x + 2)3 - 4? (-2, -4) (-2, 4) (2, -4) (2, 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)= (x+2) ^3-4

OpenStudy (ranga):

That is the equation of a parabola. The parabola's turning point is the vertex. You find the vertex and you found the turning point.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the vertex form is a(x-h)^2+k ... how do I go from the parabola, to that?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

By using vertex, the point should be (h,k) I think. If not, you can use dy/dx and equate it to 0
