can someone help me with this one What is the solution of the equation
Whatever value of that can be subtituted in for a variable(s) that makes the result true. For instance, if you said that x+2 = 0, then the solution would be -2, because -2+2 = 0.
For this one, add 10 to both sides to get \[\sqrt{x+8} = 6\], square both sides to get \[x+8 = 36\], move the 8 to the other side \[x = 36-8\] and then check x back through in case it is an extraneous solution.
i don't really understand it
Your goal is to get x by itself, equal to some value. In order to do this, you need to "undo" what the equation does. Do the opposite of what it does to x, which is adding 8 to x, taking the root, then subtracting 10 is equal to something. So you would add 10 to the other side, square the other side, and subtract 8 from the other side.
A. 28 B. -2 C. 36 D. 44
ok so i know its not 2 i tried that i thik its 28 or 36 i really don't no this im not good at math
That's okay; I don't think that many are... You can either plug in each value they give you and see which one works or solve algebraically.
i don't have a calculator
You can get one online.
ok this one i been on for a long time
one ones i see you have to pay for
do you know which one it is
